Jensen Ackles

Jensen Ross Ackles is an American producer, director, and actor, best known for his role in the CW drama series, Supernatural, as Dean Winchester. The Dallas-born actor was ordained through Universal Life Church Ministries to officiate the wedding of friends and fellow actors, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton in 2019.

Ackles began his acting career in 1996 when he moved from Richardson, Texas to Los Angeles, California. He began making television appearances on quintessential 90s shows like Wishbone, and Sweet Valley High. He joined the cast of the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives in 1997, and in 1998 won the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer. Following his role as Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives he continued to make notable appearances in shows such as FOX’s Dark Angel, WB’s Dawson’s Creek, and Smallville.

In 2005, Ackles undertook the role of Dean Winchester in Supernatural, where he met Jeffrey Dean Morgan who played his father in the series. The show would run for fifteen seasons, making it the longest-running North American sci-fi series to date. He would win the Critics Choice Super Award for Best Actor in a Horror Series, and multiple People’s Choice Awards, one for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor, and one for Favorite TV Bromance, which he shared with co-stars Jared Padelecki, and Misha Collins.

Ackles has since taken on multiple film roles, including Tom Hanniger in the cult film My Bloody Valentine, and Jack Durfy in Buddy Games. Recently, he formed Chaos Machine Productions with his wife, and developed the prequel spinoff to Supernatural, called The Winchesters. Though he and his wife were executive producers of the show, he would also reprise his role as Dean Winchester in the series. Officiant, actor, producer, director; Ackles has also added brewery-owner to his list of titles, as co-owner of Family Business Beer Company, alongside his wife and in-laws.
