Abbie Hoffman was an American symbol for youth rebellion and political activist in the 60s and 70s. Many know him from all his political protests, especially during election times. He was a member of the Chicago Eight, a group of protesters that made headlines for confrontations with the Chicago police during the 1968 democratic national convention. He was arrested many times due to protests and conflicts with the law, but that didn’t stop Hoffman from making news and gaining popularity from the masses. He also published and wrote articles and numerous literary pieces detailing his life and scandals around the world. He was the founder of the Youth International Party, also dubbed “Yippies”. He was also an ordained minister.
