Doris Day is a well-known American singer, actress, and strong animal activist. Doris started her career in a band and as her popularity grew, she left her old band and started her solo artist career. She signed with Columbia Records and released a total of 650 singles. She was then sought after to be a movie star, to which she agreed and was cast as the lead female role in Romance on the High Seas. Doris has acted in over 40 films, and received numerous awards such as Academy awards, Golden Globes, and a Cecile B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievements in film.

Doris is now remembered most for her participation in Animal Rights and Animal Welfare. She has started and co-founded different non-profit organizations to benefit animals. She even started her own called the Doris Day Animal Foundation and the Doris Day Animal League. She even received a medal honoring her achievements by the president George Bush Senior.
