Cyd Charisse is known to be one of the greatest Hollywood dancers of her time. Perfecting her craft in the art of ballet, she danced in the Russian Ballet in Monte Carlo, which is one of the highest achievements a dancer can attain. In 1943, David Lichine asked her to appear in her first movie to dance ballet, in “Something to Shout About”, in which she had much success.
She also managed to get her credentials to be an ordained minister through all this, receiving it from the Universal Life Church. She then appeared in several TV shows, and on stage in Las Vegas. She also appeared on stages in Melbourne, New York and London, where she starred in many different musicals.
